Oh, heaven smiled on me
Yes Lord, a light so bright
I look at the path that I’m walking today
I see how the darkness has faded away
It wasn't by chance or a trick of the light
It’s the blessing of Peter, keeping me right
He walks with a spirit so humble and kind
A treasure of peace that I’m happy to find
Oh, glory to the One who gave such a gift
My heart is dancing, my soul is adrift
Oh, Peter, you’re a blessing from above
Reflecting the Father, surrounded in love
With Peter by my side, I’m walking in grace
I see all of heaven in his gentle face
Yes Lord, Peter is a prayer come true
Thank You Jesus for the light he brings through
We stand on the promises, day after day
In every sweet word that I hear Peter say
He’s steady as iron, he’s calm as the sea
He’s exactly the partner that was chosen for me
It’s a covenant woven in faith and in truth
From the days of our morning to the dawn of our youth
Oh, praise Him for the laughter, praise Him for the peace
May the love that we’re building never cease
Oh, Peter, you’re a blessing from above
Reflecting the Father, surrounded in love
With Peter by my side, I’m walking in grace
I see all of heaven in his gentle face
Yes Lord, Peter is a prayer come true
Thank You Jesus for the light he brings through
It’s the patience he carries, the joy in his heart
A work of the Spirit, right from the start
He’s a man of the vision, a man of the soul
Making me better, making me whole
Amen, amen, the light is so clear
There’s nothing to fear when my Peter is near
So here is my anthem, a song for the King
For the favor and mercy that the mornings all bring
With Peter beside me, I’m ready to stand
With the strength of the Lord holding onto my hand
Oh, hallowed be the journey, hallowed be the way
I’m grateful for Peter each and every day
Oh, Peter, you’re a blessing from above
Reflecting the Father, surrounded in love
With Peter by my side, I’m walking in grace
I see all of heaven in his gentle face
Yes Lord, Peter is a prayer come true
Thank You Jesus for the light he brings through
Yes, Peter, you’re the blessing I know
Watching our love in His garden grow
Hallelujah, glory, peace in the land
Peter, my love, take my hand
Amen.
