(Soft talking drum beat)
Odogwu…
My father, my king
We miss you, Uncle B
Bethuel Ogomdedum Amaefule, the man of grace
Dr. Johnbull, you left an empty space
You raised nine children with a heart so wide
With our mother by your side, you never hide
You served Jehovah with a spirit so true
We keep your wisdom, the way you grew
I call you His Excellency, my hero, my light
You’d call back 'My princess', everything is alright
Oh, my dear father , how I miss your voice
To walk in your footsteps is my only choice
Uncle B, you’re sleeping now, just to wake up soon
Waiting for Jehovah’s promises upon this earth
May 21st, the day I screamed your name but no response
But the light you gave us, it stays the same
You taught us courage, you taught us to pray
We still hear your words to start every day
Nine of us here, standing tall for mom
Keeping the promises, the ones that you knew
I call you His Excellency, my hero, my light
You’d call back 'My princess', everything is alright
Oh, my dear father , how I miss your voice
To walk in your footsteps is my only choice
Uncle B, you’re sleeping now, just to wake up soon
Waiting for Jehovah’s promises upon this earth
Jehovah will call, and you will answer
I long for the day to see life in your eyes
Your wisdom, your kindness, it lives in our soul
Without you here, we are trying to be whole
Dr. Johnbull, a legacy carved in the stone
To the greatest father, you’re never forgotten
We carry your banner, the Bethuel’s pride
With Jehovah as our shepherd, you’re our gentle guide
I call you His Excellency, my hero, my light
You’d call back 'My princess', everything is alright
Oh, my dear father , how I miss your voice
To walk in your footsteps is my only choice
Uncle B, you’re sleeping now, just to wake up soon
Waiting for Jehovah’s promises upon this earth
Sleep well, His Excellency
Our Uncle B, Dr Johnbull
You princess is here, trusting in Jehovah
Until the kingdom comes , no more dying
(Fade out with soft piano and talking drum)
