Yeah, oh, my beautiful daughter Shekemi is now a teenager.
Happy birthday Shekemi
November twenty-sixth 2013, the air was cool and crisp
Oakbend Medical center, a memory that exists
Texas sky was glowing, a Thanksgiving kind of grace
When you arrived, Shekemi, we finally saw your face
Morenike and Feyikemi, they watched you start to crawl
They’ve been right there beside you, standing proud and standing tall
Thirteen years of laughter, thirteen years of light
You’re growing up so fast, everything’s feeling right
Oh, Shekemi, happy birthday you’re turning thirteen today
Like magic in the air, in every single way
A teenager now, stepping into your own shine
I’m so proud to call you, the amazing child
Yeah, baby, you’re blooming, watch the magic unfold
A story of your beauty that’s waiting to be told
This new phase is calling, with dreams you’re gonna chase
I see the transformation, the smile upon your face
Through all the fruitful seasons, you’ll reach for every star
Never lose the wonder, no matter where you are
Morenike’s got your back, Feyikemi’s by your side
With love that keeps on flowing, a never-ending tide
I pray for your achievement, in all you choose to do
The world is wide and waiting, just for someone like you
Oh, Shekemi, you’re turning thirteen today. Happy birthday
Like magic in the air, in every single way
A teenager now, stepping into your own shine
I’m so proud to call you, the amazing child of mine
Yeah, baby, you’re blooming, watch the magic unfold
A story of your beauty that’s waiting to be told
I need you to remember, through the highs and the lows
Keep that heart wide open, that’s how a flower grows
From a baby in Texas to a lady so bright
Shine your light on everyone, keep the vision in your sight
Mmm, yeah, you’re royalty, baby
Beyond the teen years waiting, the future’s looking clear
We celebrate your growth, year after blessed year
Keep pushing for the summit, keep striving for the best
In the hands of the universe, you’re truly, truly blessed
Shekemi, my heart, you’re making us all proud
Stand up and be counted, speak it out so loud
Oh, Shekemi, you’re turning thirteen today. Hapoy birthday
Like magic in the air, in every single way
A teenager now, stepping into your own shine
I’m so proud to call you, the amazing daughter of mine
Yeah, baby, you’re blooming, watch the magic unfold
A story of your beauty that’s waiting to be told
Yeah, you’re magic, Shekemi
Thirteen years, oh
Keep growing, keep shining, baby
I love you, you’re a star
Yeah, mmm.
