(Gentle organ swell building into rhythmic percussion)
Jowash Opio on the mike
Shepherd, listen...
God is watching.
You stand on the pulpit, shouting Hallelujah,
But your eyes are on the pocket, not on the soul,
You preach prosperity, but you practice robbery,
Milking the widow, milking the poor.
You ask for seed, you ask for offering,
Building mansions with the tithe of the suffering,
You have forgotten the cross, you love the money,
Shepherd, who made you a businessman?
The sheep are hungry, they need the word,
But you give them fear, so they give you gold,
You have turned the altar into a market,
But God is not sleeping, oh no.
God is watching you, oh shepherd,
He sees what you do in secret,
Change your ways before the sun goes down,
God is watching you, oh shepherd,
The truth is a mirror you cannot break,
He knows the motives that your heart will take.
You claim the anointing for a heavy price,
Selling miracles like they are just merchandise,
The weary traveler comes looking for grace,
But you look for the cash inside of his case.
Your robes are silk, but your spirit is cold,
Trading the gospel for glitter and gold,
Do you remember the love that you found?
Or is your treasure buried deep in the ground?
God is watching you, oh shepherd,
He sees what you do in secret,
Change your ways before the sun goes down,
God is watching you, oh shepherd,
The truth is a mirror you cannot break,
He knows the motives that your heart will take.
Oh, the light is coming to uncover the shade,
Every foundation that you falsely laid,
Repent of the greed, turn back to the truth,
Guide the elders and protect the youth,
The altar is holy, the altar is fire,
Lift up the spirit, lift the desire higher.
God is watching you, oh shepherd,
He sees what you do in secret,
Change your ways before the sun goes down,
God is watching you, oh shepherd,
The truth is a mirror you cannot break,
He knows the motives that your heart will take.
God is watching.
Let the truth set the people free.
No more chains, no more market.
Just the light. Just the grace.
God is watching you.
