Nna, listen to the story of a giant
A man of truth, a man of peace
Oh, we celebrate you today
Nnam Eluemunor Augustus, your name rings out like a bell
A life well-lived, stories that the brothers love to tell
You walked with strength, you walked with head held high
A lion heart under the bright Nigerian sky
You never wavered when the road was getting steep
You planted seeds of courage that we’re honored now to reap
Chai, your footsteps left a mark upon the sand
A true son of the soil, the pride of all the land
Diokpa Augustus, we remember your name
In the heart of the people, you’re burning like a flame
With courage in your spirit and truth upon your tongue
Your legacy of honor will forever be unsung
Omalicha man, you showed us how to rise
Your memory is glowing, shining in our eyes
Nna, you stood for justice when the world was looking blind
You left the petty matters and the wickedness behind
A man of his word, when you speak the matter rest
Even in the pressure, you were always at your best
From the busy streets of Onitsha to the quiet of the night
You lived a life of honor, you kept the future bright
Omo, the people talk about the wisdom that you share
They say a man like Augustus is truly very rare
Oh Augustus, we remember your name
In the heart of the people, you’re burning like a flame
With courage in your spirit and truth upon your tongue
Your legacy of honor will forever be unsung
Omalicha man, you showed us how to rise
Your memory is glowing, shining in our eyes
Chop life with pride, but keep your honor pure
That was the lesson that you gave, the only real cure
Though you are gone, your spirit remains near
We celebrate your life and we have no more fear
Your courage was a shield, your kindness was a light
You guided all the family through the darkness of the night
Nnam Eluemunor, your labor was not vain
We are the harvest standing in the sun and in the rain
No wahala, your story is written in our blood
You kept the path of truth through the fire and the flood
Oya, let the horns blow loud for the hero that we knew
Everything we do today is inspired by you
Oh Augustus, we remember your name
In the heart of the people, you’re burning like a flame
With courage in your spirit and truth upon your tongue
Your legacy of honor will forever be unsung
Omalicha man, you showed us how to rise
Your memory is glowing, shining in our eyes
Rest in peace, Nnam Augustus
Your truth lives on, it lives on in us
Chai, a legend forever
We will forget you? Never, never
