Before
the
mountains
learned
to
stand,
Before
the
oceans
held
God's
hand,
Before
the
stars
were
dressed
in
light,
The
Word
was
there
beyond
the
night.
And
when
the
breath
of
Eden
ceased,
When
sin
destroyed
the
garden's
peace,
When
Adam
hid
and
shame
took
hold,
God's
love
remained,
unbought,
untold.
Oh,
what
is
man
that
God
should
care?
A
breath,
a
shadow,
a
whispered
prayer.
Yet
heaven
looked
upon
our
shame,
And
mercy
called
us
by
our
name.
Not
with
silver,
not
with
gold,
But
with
a
story
prophets
told:
A
spotless
Lamb,
a
crimson
stream,
The
hope
of
every
broken
dream.
At
Calvary,
justice
met
with
grace;
The
Son
of
God
took
our
place.
The
hands
that
formed
the
stars
above
Were
pierced
by
nails
because
of
love.
And
there
He
hung
between
earth
and
sky,
The
sinless
One
condemned
to
die.
The
sun
grew
dark,
the
earth
did
shake,
And
veils
were
torn
for
mercy's
sake.
But
listen,
Church!
The
grave
was
borrowed!
Death
could
not
hold
the
King
of
sorrow.
On
the
third
day,
the
stone
rolled
away—
The
Resurrection
announced
a
new
day! ##
Chorus —
Sing
with
Power
Jesus
lives!
Hallelujah!
The
grave
has
lost
its
victory!
Jesus
reigns!
Hallelujah!
His
blood
has
purchased
liberty!
From
the
Cross
unto
the
throne,
He
has
claimed
us
as
His
own.
By
His
stripes
and
by
His
grace,
We
shall
see
Him
face
to
face!
Oh,
the
blood!
Oh,
the
blood!
That
washes
every
stain!
Oh,
the
Cross!
Oh,
the
Cross!
Where
love
defeated
shame!
Jesus
lives
forevermore!
He
has
opened
heaven's
door!
Hallelujah!
Christ
is
King!
Let
the
redeemed
arise
and
sing!
I
was
a
sinner,
lost
and
blind,
With
chains
of
darkness
round
my
mind.
I
tried
to
earn
what
grace
gives
free,
And
built
a
prison
out
of
me.
I
thought
that
God
would
count
my
tears,
My
good
intentions,
all
my
years.
But
Romans
teaches,
plain
and
true,
That
grace
is
what
makes
all
things
new.
For
we
are
saved
by
grace
through
faith,
Not
by
the
works
our
hands
create. (
Ephesians 2:8–9)
No
human
boasting,
none
can
stand;
Salvation
rests
in
God's
own
hand.
The
cross
declares
what
pride
denies:
We
cannot
save
ourselves
by
tries.
Yet
grace
is
not
a
license
to
sin,
It
is
the
power
to
change
within.
The
Spirit
teaches
hearts
to
turn,
And
makes
our
souls
for
holiness
yearn.
For
if
a
man
be
found
in
Christ,
The
old
has
passed;
new
life
has
risen. (2
Corinthians 5:17)
So
do
not
tell
me
grace
is
cheap,
When
Jesus
paid
a
price
so
deep.
The
gift
is
free,
but
hear
me
say:
It
cost
the
Son
His
life
that
day. ##
Chorus —
Repeat
Jesus
lives!
Hallelujah!
The
grave
has
lost
its
victory!
Jesus
reigns!
Hallelujah!
His
blood
has
purchased
liberty!
From
the
Cross
unto
the
throne,
He
has
claimed
us
as
His
own.
By
His
stripes
and
by
His
grace,
We
shall
see
Him
face
to
face!
Oh,
the
blood!
Oh,
the
blood!
That
washes
every
stain!
Oh,
the
Cross!
Oh,
the
Cross!
Where
love
defeated
shame!
Jesus
lives
forevermore!
He
has
opened
heaven's
door!
Hallelujah!
Christ
is
King!
Let
the
redeemed
arise
and
sing!
But
what
of
those
who
pray
and
wait?
Who
knock
on
heaven's
door
till
late?
Who
bury
dreams
and
wipe
their
eyes,
And
ask
God
why
the
promise
dies?
Remember
Joseph
in
the
prison,
Remember
David,
God's
anointed.
Remember
Job
upon
the
ash,
When
all
his
earthly
treasures
crashed.
The
pit
was
not
Joseph's
final
place;
The
cave
could
not
cancel
David's
grace.
And
Job,
though
wounded,
could
declare: "
My
Redeemer
lives!"
despite
despair.
Faith
is
not
the
absence
of
the
storm,
Nor
does
it
mean
our
days
are
warm.
Faith
is
trusting
God's
own
hand
When
we
cannot
understand
His
plan.
For
though
the
fig
tree
bears
no
fruit,
And
empty
vines
yield
no
produce,
Though
fields
are
barren,
cattle
gone,
Still
I
will
praise
the
Holy
