VERSE 1 — GOD'S PROMISE
Long ago, the prophet spoke,
Of a holy child, the hope of the world.
Isaiah told us of this wonderful day,
A mighty Saviour would come our way.
The Prince of Peace, the Son divine,
God's perfect love for all mankind.
The world was waiting, the world needed light,
God sent His Son on that holy night.
BIBLE REFERENCE: ISAIAH 9:6
VERSE 2 — THE MANGER
Mary held the holy child,
So gentle, precious, meek, and mild.
Joseph stood there by her side,
As heaven's promise came alive.
No royal bed, no palace bright,
A humble manger held the Light.
The King of kings came down to earth,
In Bethlehem, the place of His birth.
BIBLE REFERENCE: LUKE 2:1–7
CHORUS — LET THE WORLD REJOICE
LEAD: The Saviour is born!
CHOIR: Let the whole world rejoice!
LEAD: Glory to God in the highest!
CHOIR: Peace and goodwill to all!
ALL:
Jesus Christ, the gift of love,
Sent to us from heaven above.
Let every heart make room today,
For Jesus Christ, the Living Way.
VERSE 3 — ANGELS AND SHEPHERDS
Out in the fields, the shepherds stayed,
Watching their sheep in the quiet shade.
Then suddenly, the heavens shone,
An angel announced God's precious Son.
“Do not be afraid,” the angel said,
“Good news of great joy has come today!
The Saviour, Christ the Lord, is born!”
The shepherds praised Him that holy morn.
The heavenly host began to sing,
Giving all glory to God, our King.
The shepherds went to see the child,
And spread the news with hearts made glad.
BIBLE REFERENCE: LUKE 2:8–20
