THE WHEEL IS TURNING FOR ME
Style: Soulful Afro-fusion / Inspirational Gospel
Intro
Oh-oh-oh, yeah, yeah!
Life is a journey, nobody knows tomorrow,
Today you may be crying, tomorrow you may shine.
The same people laughing when you had nothing
May turn around to celebrate you when your star begins to shine.
Oh, my people, listen!
The wheel is turning, turning for me!
Verse 1
For so long I was down in the valley,
Dust on my shoes, tears in my eyes.
I carried my dreams like a heavy burden,
While people around me watched me try.
They said my season would never come,
They said my story would end in pain.
But I kept on walking, I kept on praying,
Knowing the sunshine would follow the rain.
I saw my friends moving forward,
While I was standing in the same place.
Sometimes I wondered if God had forgotten
The name I carried, the dreams I chased.
But deep inside me, a voice kept saying,
“My child, don't give up, your time will come.”
Now look at me, I'm standing stronger,
The race isn't over until it's done!
Chorus
Life turns like a wheel, oh-oh,
Yesterday down, today I rise.
The wheel is turning, turning for me,
I can see my blessings before my eyes.
Life turns like a wheel, oh-oh,
My story is changing, my star will shine.
The wheel is turning in my favour,
After the waiting, the victory is mine!
Oh, turning, turning, turning for me!
Turning, turning, my time is here!
The wheel is turning in my favour,
I am moving forward, no more fear!
Verse 2
Every “no” that they gave me
Taught me to stand and believe in myself.
Every door they closed against me
Made me search for another way.
I was rejected, but I wasn't defeated,
I was delayed, but I wasn't denied.
Even when nobody stood beside me,
I held my faith and continued the fight.
Some people only respect your success,
They don't understand the pain you survived.
They never saw the nights you were crying,
Or how many times you nearly gave up.
But today I'm grateful for every lesson,
For every struggle that made me strong.
The road was rough, but I kept on moving,
And now I'm singing a brand-new song!
Chorus
Life turns like a wheel, oh-oh,
Yesterday down, today I rise.
The wheel is turning, turning for me,
I can see my blessings before my eyes.
Life turns like a wheel, oh-oh,
My story is changing, my star will shine.
The wheel is turning in my favour,
After the waiting, the victory is mine!
Verse 3
To the one who is crying in silence,
To the one whose dreams have fallen apart,
Don't let your present situation
Make you surrender your beautiful heart.
You may be poor today, but keep on learning.
You may be weak today, but keep standing tall.
You may be waiting for somebody to help you,
But don't lose hope because of one closed door.
Life is a wheel, it keeps on turning,
Nobody remains forever below.
The hand that gives today may need tomorrow,
So treat everybody with love as you grow.
When you rise, don't forget the people
Who shared your tears when you had no bread.
Remember the days when hope was your comfort,
And lift somebody who's struggling ahead.
Bridge
Turning, turning, turning for my good,
After all the waiting, I know I understood.
Nothing lasts forever, the night must give way,
The sun will rise again to welcome a brand-new day.
My time, my turn, my season has come!
My heart is dancing, the battle is won!
Grace is speaking, favour is calling,
Even after stumbling, I'm no longer falling!
Oh, my God, I thank You!
For the strength to carry on.
When the world said it was over,
You reminded me to hold on!
