(Mmm, yeah)
He’s never late, oh baby
He’s never late, yeah
Martha’s crying out, she’s calling for the light
Her brother’s gone, she’s searching through the night
"Jesus, come quickly, my heart is breaking down"
She’s looking for a miracle on this hollow ground
But the silence feels heavy, the shadows start to grow
She’s lost in the sorrow, nowhere else to go
But Jesus, he’s never late, no never late
He’s moving in the quiet, He’s steady at the gate
In the sickness, in the pain, He’s right there by your side
He’s never late, oh, He’s never late
Even in the struggle, you don't have to hide
"Where have you laid him?" He whispers in the dark
He’s searching for the flicker, searching for the spark
It wasn't for the ending, it wasn't for the grave
It was for the glory, the power that He gave
Oh, you think He’s forgotten, you think He turned away
But He’s orchestrating dawn for your brand new day
'Cause Jesus, he’s never late, no never late
He’s moving in the quiet, He’s steady at the gate
In the sickness, in the pain, He’s right there by your side
He’s never late, oh, He’s never late
Even in the struggle, you don't have to hide
In the tears that you cry, He’s there
In the poverty and need, He’s there
In the school, in the work, in the deep despair
He’s never, no never, He’s never late
(Come here, listen to me)
So keep your head up, don't let the spirit fade
Trust in the promise, the foundation He laid
He’s working behind the veil, He’s working out the plan
Everything is resting in the palm of His hand
Yeah, He’s never late, He’s right on time
'Cause Jesus, he’s never late, no never late
He’s moving in the quiet, He’s steady at the gate
In the sickness, in the pain, He’s right there by your side
He’s never late, oh, He’s never late
Even in the struggle, you don't have to hide
He’s never late, no never late
(I need you, Jesus)
He’s never late, He’s right on time
(Yeah, yeah)
Always right on time.
