[male
vocals]
[Intro] Nna!
Oh,
we
celebrate
a
hero
today.
Chai!
A
man
of
honor,
a
general
in
the
light.
[Verse 1] We
shall
for
a
long
time
speak
of
the
man
we
knew
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
a
heart
so
brave
and
true
From
the
streets
of
the
nation
to
the
stars
above
You
carried
the
weight
of
duty
with
so
much
love
You
were
a
pillar
of
strength
when
the
storm
was
high
A
guiding
light
beneath
the
Nigerian
sky
We
look
at
your
life
and
we
see
the
grace
Legacy
written
in
time
and
space.
[Chorus] Oh,
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
God’
s
own
General
Your
memory
is
deep,
your
spirit
is
eternal
Rest
on,
brother,
in
the
arms
of
the
Lord
You
lived
by
honor,
you
kept
your
word
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
a
soldier
of
peace
May
your
soul
find
joy
that
will
never
cease
Rest
on,
rest
on,
in
heavenly
light
You
fought
the
good
fight,
you
won
the
height.
[Verse 2] Omo!
The
path
you
walked
was
paved
with
sacrifice
You
never
faltered,
you
paid
the
heavy
price
Through
all
the
seasons,
you
stood
so
tall
Answering
the
nation’
s
urgent,
lonely
call
Chai!
We
miss
your
wisdom,
we
miss
your
smile
We
walk
the
journey,
mile
after
weary
mile
But
heaven
is
glad,
it
welcomes
you
home
Under
the
glorious,
golden
dome.
[Chorus] Oh,
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
God’
s
own
General
Your
memory
is
deep,
your
spirit
is
eternal
Rest
on,
brother,
in
the
arms
of
the
Lord
You
lived
by
honor,
you
kept
your
word
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
a
soldier
of
peace
May
your
soul
find
joy
that
will
never
cease
Rest
on,
rest
on,
in
heavenly
light
You
fought
the
good
fight,
you
won
the
height.
[Bridge] Oya!
Let
the
horns
blow,
let
the
guitars
sing
To
the
General
of
grace,
let
the
praises
ring
Though
you
are
gone
from
this
earthly
shore
Your
spirit
remains,
forevermore
No
wahala
now,
no
more
pain
to
bear
Just
perfect
peace
in
the
Father’
s
care.
[Verse 3] We
carry
the
torch
that
you
lit
so
bright
Walking
in
honor,
moving
toward
the
light
Alex,
your
name
is
a
song
we
sing
Of
hope
and
courage
that
the
mornings
bring
Though
the
road
is
long,
we
hold
our
head
high
Watching
the
shadows
pass
us
by
God’
s
own
General,
your
work
is
done
Rest
in
the
warmth
of
the
setting
sun.
[Chorus] Oh,
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
God’
s
own
General
Your
memory
is
deep,
your
spirit
is
eternal
Rest
on,
brother,
in
the
arms
of
the
Lord
You
lived
by
honor,
you
kept
your
word
Alex
Sabundu
Bade,
a
soldier
of
peace
May
your
soul
find
joy
that
will
never
cease
Rest
on,
rest
on,
in
heavenly
light
You
fought
the
good
fight,
you
won
the
height.
[Outro] Rest
on,
Alex
Sabundu
Bade.
Chop
life
in
glory,
our
brother,
our
friend.
God’
s
own
General,
we
will
meet
again.
Rest
on,
rest
on,
General.
Nna!
