(Oya, ginger!)
See the man of the hour, David!
A man after God’s own heart, no cap
(E choke!)
Let’s celebrate the king today
Wake up, baby, the sun is shining bright for you
Everything you touch, you make it look brand new
You’re the one that holds my hand through the storm
With a heart so pure, keeping us safe and warm
You hustle hard, you never ever complain
Even when the road is full of heavy rain
My husband, my hero, you’re the true star
I’m just so happy you’re exactly who you are
Happy birthday to my darling David
My number one, the one that God created
You’re a man after God’s own heart, it’s true
Everything good, baby, belongs to you
(Omo!)
Oh David, my king, we celebrate your light
Shining so bold, shining so bright
Happy birthday, let the music play
It’s your day, let the world hear what I say
Look at your smile, it brings peace to my soul
With you by my side, I’m finally feeling whole
You’re the prayer answer, the gift I cherish most
To your goodness and grace, let us raise a toast
No dulling today, we go party till the dawn
From the city streets to the break of the morn
(Ehen!)
See this one, my handsome man, so fine
I’m so lucky that I get to call you mine
Happy birthday to my darling David
My number one, the one that God created
You’re a man after God’s own heart, it’s true
Everything good, baby, belongs to you
Oh David, my king, we celebrate your light
Shining so bold, shining so bright
Happy birthday, let the music play
It’s your day, let the world hear what I say
Greater heights, only blessing on your head
Everything you want, it shall be done, it’s said
You lead with wisdom, you lead with love
A special blessing from the heavens above
(No competition!)
Many more years of laughter and of joy
My sweetheart, my champion, my favorite boy
We keep on growing, we keep on moving high
Underneath this beautiful Nigerian sky
(Ah-ah!)
From Lagos to the world, your name is ringing loud
Standing so tall and standing so proud
Happy birthday to my darling David
My number one, the one that God created
You’re a man after God’s own heart, it’s true
Everything good, baby, belongs to you
Oh David, my king, we celebrate your light
Shining so bold, shining so bright
Happy birthday, let the music play
It’s your day, let the world hear what I say
David, you’re the best, on God!
(Shey you dey whine me?)
Happy birthday, my king
More life, more grace, more blessings
(E don do!)
Yeah, we celebrate you today
David!
