(Talking drum rolls)
Yeah, ehen! It's a royal day today
Who we celebrate? The one and only
Oya, join me! King Sunny Ade style for the Prince
Sun come out, the sky dey shine so bright
Today na special day, we go party through the night
From Lagos to the world, the story dey travel far
My brother, Ọmọ-Ọba, you be the shining star
You carry grace like the king wey you dey follow
No look back today, no sorrow for tomorrow
Celebrate the life, celebrate the way you grow
Everybody shout, let the rhythm flow
Ọmọ-Ọba Olú Atere, happy birthday to you
Life is good, and the dream is coming true
We celebrate your name, we celebrate your style
King Sunny Ade rhythm make we dance for a while
Ọmọ-Ọba, you be legend, you be prince of the game
We calling out your honor, we calling out your name
Look at the way you stand, you dey move with such class
Checking every step, no looking at the past
Olú Atere, your crown dey shine so gold
A leader in the making, courageous and bold
We gather round the table, jollof and the drink
Taking all the love before you even blink
No dulling today, the gbedu is calling out
Tell them say the Prince is here, let us sing and shout
Ọmọ-Ọba Olú Atere, happy birthday to you
Life is good, and the dream is coming true
We celebrate your name, we celebrate your style
King Sunny Ade rhythm make we dance for a while
Ọmọ-Ọba, you be legend, you be prince of the game
We calling out your honor, we calling out your name
(Guitar solo, highlife style)
See the beat, e dey ginger me!
Every year na grace, every year na bless
Nothing but success, nothing but the best
Ọmọ-Ọba, omo, you too much!
Ọmọ-Ọba Olú Atere, happy birthday to you
Life is good, and the dream is coming true
We celebrate your name, we celebrate your style
