(Guitar ripples meet the soft pulse of talking drums)
Yeah, we celebrate a man of grace today
Ebenezer Taiye Akinsanmi
Listen to the rhythm of a good heart
There is a man who walks with steady feet
Spreading kindness to everyone he meets
Ebenezer Taiye, the name is known
For all the seeds of love that he has sown
He does not look for fame or hollow praise
He keeps on giving through his golden days
With open hands, he lifts the heavy load
He lightens up the burdens on the road
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
Taiye Akinsanmi, your spirit shines
Like morning sun across the border lines
Philanthropist of noble, steady soul
You help the broken hearts to feel quite whole
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
He sees the brother standing in the cold
He offers shelter, silver and the gold
He sees the sister struggling in the night
He brings the lamp that turns the dark to light
No prideful ego in the things he does
He moves in silence just because he must
A quiet hero in the crowd today
We honor you in our own special way
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
Taiye Akinsanmi, your spirit shines
Like morning sun across the border lines
Philanthropist of noble, steady soul
You help the broken hearts to feel quite whole
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
It’s not in how much you have in your hand
It’s in the way you help your fellow man
Ebenezer, you set the standard high
With love that never fades and will not die
Keep walking on, keep lifting up the weak
Your legacy is exactly what we seek
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
Taiye Akinsanmi, your spirit shines
Like morning sun across the border lines
Philanthropist of noble, steady soul
You help the broken hearts to feel quite whole
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
So let the drums beat soft for this good man
Across the city, across the distant land
Your name is whispered with a grateful tone
A harvest of the mercy you have shown
We thank the heavens for the path you tread
For all the hungry ones that you have fed
Ebenezer, we celebrate your name
With no desire for any kind of fame
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
Taiye Akinsanmi, your spirit shines
Like morning sun across the border lines
Philanthropist of noble, steady soul
You help the broken hearts to feel quite whole
Oh, Ebenezer, a heart so true
So many lives are blessed because of you
Yeah, keep on shining, Taiye Akinsanmi
Generosity is the way of the wise
Ebenezer, we salute you today
