(Gentle talking drum rhythm)
We remember you today, Baba
April 4th, the day you left us
Oh, we miss you so much
Rest on, Prince Adegboyega Oladipupo Ogunlewe
It has been years since you went away
But the memories brighten every single day
You showed us love, you showed us the way
In the Fadugba Ogunlewe house, we kneel and pray
Bisi, Yinka, and Princess Kemi too
We are all standing, thinking of you
Otunba Niyi and Princess Eniola stay
Carrying the light that you gave away
Rest in the bosom of your Creator, Baba
Your tender love, we feel it forever
Though you are gone, your spirit is near
We shed a smile, wiping away the tear
Prince Adegboyega, our hero and guide
In our hearts, you will always reside
Engineer Gbenga and Princess Morenike
Still remember the words you used to say
Barrister Abiola, Engineer Damola
Prince Aderibigbe, the stories grow older
The royal family feels the empty space
But we find peace, we find your grace
No wahala, you are in a better place
We see your legacy in every single face
(Soft percussion, emotional build)
2009, April was the date
We bow our heads and accept the fate
You taught us strength, you taught us pride
With your wisdom as our constant guide
We love you, Baba, until we meet again
You are the rhythm within our rain
Rest in the bosom of your Creator, Baba
Your tender love, we feel it forever
Though you are gone, your spirit is near
We shed a smile, wiping away the tear
Prince Adegboyega, our hero and guide
In our hearts, you will always reside
(Fading marimba)
Rest on, Prince Ogunlewe
We miss you, Baba
Fadugba Ogunlewe family
Always in our hearts
Sleep well, sleep well
