(Talking drum echoes softly)
Big Pot, yeah
We dey miss you, man
Nov 15, the date stay for our mind
Always and forever
Early morning sun just dey rise for the sky
But the joy no dey flow like it used to do
Every corner of this house I dey look for your face
But na memory remain, oh, it’s hard to trace
I remember the laughter, the stories you told
Your heart was a treasure, a beauty to hold
Now we dey gather, your children stand tall
But inside we dey bleed, oh, we feel the wall
Oh, Big Pot, our sweet legend, rest in peace
Your love for your children will never decrease
November 15, that day leave a scar
But we know you dey guide us, wherever you are
Yeah, you dey guide us, wherever you are
Big Pot, rest on, you’re the brightest star
Life no be balance, dem talk say e true
But the weight of this silence is heavy on you
We dey cook up the jollof, we dey share all the bread
But the chair at the head is empty instead
Your wisdom was fire, your spirit was bold
Those lessons you gave us, worth more than gold
Even with the tears that fall down like the rain
We celebrate you, Big Pot, to ease all the pain
Oh, Big Pot, our sweet legend, rest in peace
Your love for your children will never decrease
November 15, that day leave a scar
But we know you dey guide us, wherever you are
Yeah, you dey guide us, wherever you are
Big Pot, rest on, you’re the brightest star
Time e go heal, so dem tell us be dat
But missing a hero, we no fit combat
Keep resting, keep shining, keep watch over we
Your legacy lives, it’s all that we see
(Talking drum solo)
Omo, the street still dey mention your name
For the good things you do, you no care for the fame
Your children are standing, we holding the line
Just like you taught us, we bound to shine
It’s a tribute of love from the depth of the soul
To the one who made every broken heart whole
Oh, Big Pot, our sweet legend, rest in peace
Your love for your children will never decrease
November 15, that day leave a scar
But we know you dey guide us, wherever you are
Yeah, you dey guide us, wherever you are
Big Pot, rest on, you’re the brightest star
Rest on, Big Pot
November 15, never forgotten
We carry your spirit everywhere we go
Forever in our hearts
(Guitar fades out)
