### 🇺🇬 UGANDA, OUR FUTURE IS IN OUR HANDS
A powerful patriotic spoken-word poem | Determined Ugandan Afrobeat | By Fred Mujemu
MUSIC BASE: Heavy punchy bass, deep drums, energetic Ugandan percussion, tense cinematic layers, and a steadily rising Afrobeat rhythm.
VOICE: Deep, mature male voice with a clear Ugandan English accent. Sharp pronunciation, firm consonants, commanding delivery, and deliberate pauses. Start low and serious, then build into a powerful rallying declaration.
### THE POEM
\[INTRO — SLOW, DEEP, DETERMINED\]
Uganda! Uganda! Our beautiful land!
We honour the progress made by our nation.
Roads are rising, electricity is spreading, Schools are growing, and businesses are starting. We recognise the work already done, But a nation's journey is never finished!
\[BEAT DROPS — STRONG, SHARP VOICE\]
Our youth are graduating, certificates in hand, Bachelor's, Master's, PhDs across the land! But where are the jobs they studied to do? Why are qualified graduates still struggling through?
Some become cleaners, maids and security guards, While others search endlessly, facing closed doors. We need fair recruitment, opportunities for all, Not connections and corruption deciding who will stand tall!
\[EMPHASISE: YOUTH! JUSTICE! ACCOUNTABILITY!\]
Uganda needs jobs, skills and innovation, Young people included in national transformation! Let leadership create opportunities, not excuses; Let merit decide, not family ties or abuses!
\[PAUSE — LOWER, SERIOUS VOICE\]
And now, let us speak about corruption.
Dr. Balaam cannot fight this battle alone If corruption has spread through every level of the system. One man cannot drain an ocean with a cup; The whole nation must rise and clean it up!
But hear us clearly: accusations are not proof. Let evidence speak, let investigations be fair. No powerful office should place anyone above the law; No ordinary citizen should be denied justice.
\[BEAT BUILDS — FORCEFUL DELIVERY\]
Investigate allegations wherever evidence leads— In State House, Parliament, ministries and districts. Examine commissions, procurement and public contracts; Follow the money, verify the records and establish the facts!
Inspect the conduct of ministers and senior officials, Chief Administrative Officers and all public servants. Let no position intimidate investigators; Let no political connection silence the truth!
If guilt is proven, let the law take its course. Where the law allows, impose stronger penalties For serious corruption and abuse of high office. Recover stolen public funds; protect the people's resources!
\[CALL AND RESPONSE — RALLY STYLE\]
Lead voice: WHO OWNS UGANDA?
Crowd: WE THE PEOPLE!
Lead voice: WHO MUST FIGHT CORRUPTION?
Crowd: ALL OF US!
Lead voice: WHO DESERVES OPPORTUNITY?
Crowd: EVERY QUALIFIED UGANDAN!
\[MUSIC RISES — STRONG, HOPEFUL\]
We need better hospitals, medicine and care, Quality education reaching everywhere. Support our farmers; make agriculture pay. Give rural communities a brighter day!
Build reliable roads, clean water and power; Help small businesses grow stronger by the hour. Put the right people in the right positions, And judge every leader by results and decisions!
To our leaders: prepare a future that can endure. Build strong institutions, make progress secure. Leadership is service, not permanent possession; A nation grows stronger through peaceful transition!
\[FINAL SECTION — DEEP, SHARP, FULL DETERMINATION\]
Uganda is bigger than one individual, Bigger than one party, one family or official. Our future demands courage, fairness and truth; Our greatest investment must be Uganda's youth!
We recognise achievements—now expand what works. Correct what is failing; confront those who abuse trust. No witch-hunt, no favour, no one above the law: Evidence, accountability—that is what Uganda calls for!
\[INSTRUMENTAL STOPS — FINAL WORDS SPOKEN CLEARLY\]
Uganda does not need empty promises.
Uganda needs RESULTS!
Uganda does not need protected corruption.
Uganda needs JUSTICE!
Uganda does not need qualified youth left behind.
Uganda needs OPPORTUNITY!
Our country is our responsibility. Our resources are for our people. Our future belongs to the next generation.
UGANDA, LET US RISE—WITH COURAGE, WITH UNITY, AND WITH ACCOUNTABILITY!
By Fred Mujemu — For the people of Uganda.
