ALHAJI ALIYU BAKEKO, SHEHU you are a Manfully I love you
(Gentle acoustic guitar strums layered with traditional Algaita melody)
Yeah, the rhythm of the north
Setting the tone, setting the pace
Alhaji Aliyu Bakeko
Shehu, man of the people
Listen now
Walking through the city with a steady stride
There is a grace in the way that you provide
Alhaji Aliyu, you carry the name with pride
Like the desert sun, you are the morning light
It is in the way you speak, in the way you lead
Sowing the kindness, planting the seed
Shehu, your heart is a place where we find our rest
Putting the weight of the world to the ultimate test
Alhaji Aliyu Bakeko, you are the man
Holding it down with a steady hand
Shehu, your spirit is gold and true
We celebrate the life that flows through you
Alhaji Aliyu, you are the man
Walking the path as only you can
Shehu, your spirit is gold and true
Everything good, we see it in you
Look at the way you gather the friends and kin
Always the strength from deep within
Bakeko, your legacy is built on stone
A house of honor that you have grown
It is not the riches, it is the soul you share
The way you show us that you really care
From the busy market to the quiet street
You make the journey feel so sweet
Alhaji Aliyu Bakeko, you are the man
Holding it down with a steady hand
Shehu, your spirit is gold and true
We celebrate the life that flows through you
Alhaji Aliyu, you are the man
Walking the path as only you can
Shehu, your spirit is gold and true
Everything good, we see it in you
Time moves on but your influence stays
Lighting the dark of the coldest days
A man of substance, a man of heart
Playing your part right from the start
Alhaji Aliyu, your word is your bond
Looking ahead to the great beyond
So let the music play for the man of the hour
Standing tall like a desert flower
Bakeko, your story is written in the sand
Respected deeply across the land
We thank you for the wisdom you bring
For the simple joy of the song we sing
Shehu, you are the beacon, you are the guide
With honor and truth always by your side
Alhaji Aliyu Bakeko, you are the man
Holding it down with a steady hand
Shehu, your spirit is gold and true
We celebrate the life that flows through you
Alhaji Aliyu, you are the man
Walking the path as only you can
Shehu, your spirit is gold and true
Everything good, we see it in you
Alhaji Aliyu Bakeko
Shehu, the man
Keep shining on
Yeah, keep the rhythm strong
(Fade out with traditional strings and soft percussion)
