(Soft palm wine guitar melody)
Ehen... we remember you today, Papa.
Rest well, legend. You never die in our hearts.
I sit and wonder where the days have gone
The sun is setting but the light stays on
Remembering the day you said goodbye
A giant soul beneath the open sky
You gave us strength when we were feeling small
You taught us how to stand and never fall
Your caring heart, a treasure we hold dear
We feel your spirit standing ever near
Oh, Papa Abakpa Adah, our king
To you, the angels now will sing
Your memory is deep, it lives in every breath
A love that rises far above this death
Rest well, our hero, in the arms of the Lord
You are the legend, our heart's reward
Ota, Ada, Joe and Eni too
Elizabeth and Ogba da, we all cry for you
Emmanuel, your grandson, feels the sting
Odoh Raymond, your in-law, joins the ring
We miss your voice, we miss your steady hand
The wisest man that walked upon this land
Owoicho, a ada ko lo do ko miye
We keep your legacy, we’ll be okay
Oh, Papa Abakpa Adah, our king
To you, the angels now will sing
Your memory is deep, it lives in every breath
A love that rises far above this death
Rest well, our hero, in the arms of the Lord
You are the legend, our heart's reward
Though the road is lonely now without your face
We find our comfort in your warm embrace
Your lessons guide us through the darkest night
Until we meet again in morning light
Oh, Papa Abakpa Adah, our king
To you, the angels now will sing
Your memory is deep, it lives in every breath
A love that rises far above this death
Rest well, our hero, in the arms of the Lord
You are the legend, our heart's reward
Rest well, Papa...
We will never forget you, no.
Go in peace, our legend.
