Reggae — “
Behind
the
Smile”
The
real
state...
Blakkciti
music..
As
hi
a
man
fita
line
records..
Oh
life
im
ghana..
Chale…
Sometimes
you
fit
look
at
somebody
and
think
say
he
dey
okay…
But
you
no
know
the
story
wey
he
dey
carry.
Ghana…
This
be
more
than
a
country.
This
be
our
blood.
This
be
our
pain.
This
be
our
home.
I’
m
a
Ghanaian,
I
was
born
beneath
the
sun,
Where
mama
gives
her
last
just
to
feed
her
son.
Where
papa
hides
his
worries
when
he
comes
home
late,
Says, “
Everything
go
be
fine,”
though
the
bills
still
dey
wait.
I
grew
up
hearing, “
Ba,
Nyame
bɛyɛ,”
Even
when
there
was
nothing
we
could
do
today.
Mama
never
had
plenty,
but
she
gave
me
her
all,
She
taught
me
say
a
man
can
still
stand
when
he
fall.
Chale,
I
know
the
sound
of
an
empty
pocket,
I
know
how
dreams
can
feel
too
far
to
touch.
I
know
the
pain
behind “
me
ho
yɛ.”
When
somebody
asks, “
How
you
dey?”
And
you
say, “
I’
m
fine,”
because
talking
too
much
hurts.
Ɛyɛ
den…
But
we
keep
moving.
M’
abrɛ,
but
I
no
go
surrender,
Because
somewhere
inside
me
Mama’
s
voice
still
dey
whisper: “
Wo
bɛyɛ
yie,
me
ba.”
I’
m
a
Ghanaian…
And
Ghana
dey
inside
my
soul.
I
carry
my
mother’
s
prayers
Everywhere
I
go.
I’
m
a
Ghanaian…
I’
ve
seen
the
struggle,
I
know
the
pain.
But
when
the
rain
falls
on
my
people,
We
still
wait
for
the
sun
again.
M’
abrɛ
oo,
nanso
merennyae,
M’
akoma
yɛ
yaw,
nanso
mɛkɔ
so.
Ghana
yɛ
yɛn
fie,
No
matter
where
I
go.
I
see
the
market
woman
counting
small
change,
Standing
under
the
sun
just
to
make
a
living.
I
see
the
young
man
carrying
dreams
on
his
back,
Looking
for
opportunity
but
the
road
keeps
turning
back.
I
see
the
graduate
holding
papers
in
his
hand,
Years
of
studying
but
still
no
place
to
stand.
He
smiles
for
the
family
and
says, “
I’
m
alright,”
Then
walks
alone
beneath
the
Ghana
night.
Ei,
chale…
Nobody
knows
everybody’
s
battle.
Some
people
dey
wear
fine
clothes
But
their
heart
dey
heavy.
Some
people
dey
laugh
loud
Just
so
nobody
asks
questions.
Yɛte
wiase
yi
mu
a,
yɛnko
yɛnko,
Small
small,
we
dey
find
our
way.
Yesterday
may
have
broken
our
plans,
But
tomorrow
still
belongs
to
us.
Ghana,
mi
lɛ
Ghana…
Mawu
nɔ
ni
yɛji.
Through
the
trouble
and
the
pain,
May
the
Most
High
guide
our
way.
I
remember
the
old
days,
When
happiness
no
need
money.
One
bowl
of
food,
many
people
around
the
table,
And
mama
would
say, “
Ɛyɛ
yɛn
deɛ,
yɛnkyɛ.”
Today
everybody
dey
chase
tomorrow,
Trying
to
survive
the
pressure
of
the
city.
Accra
never
sleeps,
Kumasi
still
dey
hustle,
And
across
the
land,
Our
people
still
dey
dream.
But
sometimes
I
wonder…
Who
remembers
the
old
man
Who
spent
his
whole
life
building?
Who
remembers
the
mother
Who
sacrificed
her
own
dreams?
Who
remembers
the
child
Who
only
wanted
a
chance?
Ghana,
I
ask
you…
When
will
the
children
of
the
soil
Finally
breathe
and
say, “
Now
we
are
okay”?
But
I
still
believe…
Because
my
ancestors
walked
before
me.
My
mother
prayed
before
me.
My
father
struggled
before
me.
So
I
cannot
stop
here.
Sɛ
ɔkwan
no
yɛ
tenten
a,
yɛbɛnante.
If
the
road
is
long,
we
will
walk.
Sɛ
ɛyɛ
den
a,
yɛbɛgyina.
If
it
becomes
difficult,
we
will
stand.
And
if
tomorrow
comes
with
another
challenge,
We
will
face
it
with
the
strength
of
Ghana.
I’
m
a
Ghanaian… 🇬🇭
Red,
gold,
green
inside
my
heart.
I’
m
a
Ghanaian…
No
matter
how
far
I
travel,
Ghana
will
never
leave
my
heart.
Nyame,
hyira
yɛn,
Watch
over
our
mothers
and
fathers.
Give
our
children
better
days,
Give
our
nation
peace
and
wisdom.
M’
abrɛ
oo…
but
I
still
dey
move.
M’
akoma
yɛ
yaw…
but
I
still
believe.
The
road
may
be
hard,
But
our
story
no
finish
here.
Ghana
yɛ
yɛn
fie…
Ghana
yɛ
yɛn
mogya…
Ghana
yɛ
yɛn
din…
We
are
still
here.
We
are
still
standing.
We
are
still
dreaming.
One
day…
The
child
wey
dey
sleep
hungry
Will
sleep
with
peace.
The
mother
wey
dey
struggle
Will
smile
without
worry.
The
young
man
wey
dey
search
for
his
chance
Will
finally
find
his
place.
Until
that
day…
Yɛbɛkɔ
so.
Ghana…
My
pain.
My
pride.
My
home.
I’
m
a
Ghanaian. 🇬🇭
Blakkciti
i
will
be
back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Faya.....
