He was there all the time
Yes, He was there all the time
When the shadows gathered round your door
And you couldn't find the strength to pray no more
When the silence felt louder than a scream
And you lost the vision of your every dream
He was watching every step you took
Writing your story in His holy book
Even when you felt you were on your own
He was the anchor that was never thrown
He was there all the time
Waiting patiently in love
He was there all the time
Watching from the stars above
When the family and the friends turn their backs on you
And you don't know what you're gonna do
Look up to heaven, dry your weeping eyes
He was there all the time
People come and people surely go
Like the shifting tides that ebb and flow
They promise you the moon and then they leave
Leaving you with nothing but to grieve
But the Father is a friend who stays the same
He knows the heartbeat and He knows your name
Through the valley and the darkest night
He remains your ever-burning light
He was there all the time
Waiting patiently in love
He was there all the time
Watching from the stars above
When the family and the friends turn their backs on you
And you don't know what you're gonna do
Look up to heaven, dry your weeping eyes
He was there all the time
Hallelujah, glory to His holy name
Yes Lord, His love is never gonna change
Praise Him for the mercy that He showed
Thank You Jesus for the grace that overflowed
He never left your side, not for a day
He was the light that showed you the way
Amen, amen, He’s the faithful one
Even when the setting of the sun
So when you feel that heavy weight of doubt
And you’re trying hard to find a way out
Just remember who is standing near
Whispering the words that you need to hear
You are never walking this path alone
He’s building you a place that’s like a home
Rest in the comfort of His steady hand
The finest love in all of the land
He was there all the time
Waiting patiently in love
He was there all the time
Watching from the stars above
When the family and the friends turn their backs on you
And you don't know what you're gonna do
Look up to heaven, dry your weeping eyes
He was there all the time
He was there all the time
Waiting in love, yes He was
Always there, praise Him
He never left you, amen.
