Oh, hear the word, hear the word today
He walks among the lamps, he knows your way
I see your labor and the work you do
I see the endurance that is holding you
You cannot tolerate the wicked men
You test the ones who claim to lead again
And found them liars, yeah you kept the truth
Walking in the spirit, serving in your youth
Praise Him, hallelujah, you have stayed the course
Drawing every power from the Living Source
But there’s a whisper in the holy flame
Do you still love me just the same?
Oh, you’ve persevered for the sake of my name
But your heart is cooling, it’s not the same
Return to the love that you had at first
Before the spirit felt a spiritual thirst
Yes Lord, we’re coming back to the start
To the fire burning in a humble heart
You have not grown weary, you are standing tall
But you’ve lost the passion, you’ve started to fall
Remember where you were when the light began
Before you relied on the works of man
Repent of the distance, repent of the pride
Open up the door where I reside
Glory, glory, let the light shine bright
Turn your face back to the morning light
But there’s a whisper in the holy flame
Do you still love me just the same?
Oh, you’ve persevered for the sake of my name
But your heart is cooling, it’s not the same
Return to the love that you had at first
Before the spirit felt a spiritual thirst
Yes Lord, we’re coming back to the start
To the fire burning in a humble heart
I hate the deeds of the darkness too
I’m calling out the gold that’s inside of you
Don’t let your lampstand be moved away
Come back to the altar, come back today
Thank You Jesus, we hear Your call
We lift our voices, we give You it all
Your deeds are measured by the love inside
Let the truth be your banner, let it be your guide
No more going through the motions now
We lay our crowns, we make our vow
Amen, amen, let the Spirit move
Getting back into the heavenly groove
Walking in the light, walking in the grace
Finding our strength in Your holy place
But there’s a whisper in the holy flame
Do you still love me just the same?
Oh, you’ve persevered for the sake of my name
But your heart is cooling, it’s not the same
Return to the love that you had at first
Before the spirit felt a spiritual thirst
Yes Lord, we’re coming back to the start
To the fire burning in a humble heart
Return to the love, return to the start
Keep the fire burning in your heart
He walks among the lamps, He holds the stars
Healing all our wounds and all our scars
Yes Lord, glory, amen.
