(Oh, hallelujah)
(Praise Him for the ones who paved the way)
Maria, my precious one, I love you so deep
In my heart, your memory is a promise I keep
I named you for my mother, to honor her soul
For the lessons she taught me, and the way she made me whole
Though human and fragile, she walked through the fire
Facing the judgments of men, and the world’s heavy ire
They called her names that I won’t repeat
But her love for me was a victory sweet
(Yes Lord, thank You Jesus)
Oh, Maria, your name carries light
Through the darkest of days, you are shining so bright
I honor the mother who gave all she could
Standing in grace, as a woman who stood
Glory to God, for the blood and the tears
Maria, you carry the strength of the years
(Praise Him, amen)
When sickness arrived like a shadow at the door
And the ones we called family would walk by no more
They turned their backs when she needed them most
But I stayed by her side, a faithful, loving host
I don’t harbor the anger, I don’t keep the score
For justice belongs to the One I adore
I leave it to Heaven, the Judge of the true
For the mercy that fell on my mother and you
(Thank You Jesus, glory)
Oh, Maria, your name carries light
Through the darkest of days, you are shining so bright
I honor the mother who gave all she could
Standing in grace, as a woman who stood
Glory to God, for the blood and the tears
Maria, you carry the strength of the years
Though the world may condemn, and the critics may speak
God lifts up the humble, the tired, and the weak
His grace is the measure, His mercy the shield
To the power of the Spirit, all shadows must yield
(Yes Lord, have Your way)
So Maria, live proud, walk tall in the sun
For the work that she started, in you it is done
We rise from the ashes, we rise from the blame
Carrying the honor that’s etched in your name
No man is the judge of the heart that He made
In the light of His truth, all the judgments will fade
(Amen, hallelujah)
Oh, Maria, your name carries light
Through the darkest of days, you are shining so bright
I honor the mother who gave all she could
Standing in grace, as a woman who stood
Glory to God, for the blood and the tears
Maria, you carry the strength of the years
Maria, you are loved, you are known
By the seeds of the faith that my mother has sown
(Glory)
We praise Him for grace that covers us all
Amen, amen, He catches us when we fall
(Praise Him, praise Him)
Maria…
Amen.
