(Soft guitar melody)
Oh, Mama Sarah, the light has gone dim
We call your name, but the silence is long
The chair is empty in the morning sun
The work you started is now left undone
I look at your photo, the tears start to flow
I miss the wisdom only you could show
Nna, the pain is deep within my chest
But now my mother has found her rest
Mama Sarah, oh, sleep in peace
Your love for us will never cease
From Onitsha to the ends of the land
We feel the touch of your gentle hand
Mama Sarah, our queen, our guide
We carry your spirit deep inside
I remember the stories you told at night
How you taught us to do what is right
Chai, the house is cold without your song
We wonder how we will carry on for long
You gave us everything, you gave us your heart
It hurts so much that we have to part
Mama Sarah, oh, sleep in peace
Your love for us will never cease
From Onitsha to the ends of the land
We feel the touch of your gentle hand
Mama Sarah, our queen, our guide
We carry your spirit deep inside
(Soulful choir begins)
Oh, the angels are calling your name
Life is a flicker, a delicate flame
We know you are walking the streets of gold
In the arms of the Lord, safe and bold
Omalicha Mama, sleep well, sleep tight
We will meet again in the morning light
Your grandchildren cry, they call for your smile
We sit and remember you for a while
Though you are gone, your legacy stays
We honor your memory in so many ways
Oya, rest now, your struggle is done
You shine in the stars and the rising sun
Mama Sarah, oh, sleep in peace
Your love for us will never cease
From Onitsha to the ends of the land
We feel the touch of your gentle hand
Mama Sarah, our queen, our guide
We carry your spirit deep inside
Mama Sarah…
Mama Sarah…
Rest in peace, our beautiful soul
Sleep in peace, until we are whole
