[Intro] A the night was cold and it was October 11 1999 omo Shirley etakpowa hmmm you mama try ..
(Talking drum rhythm kicks in)
Omo, listen now!
It’s a beautiful Sunday in October
Shirley Etakpowa, ehen!
Today we celebrate, no dulling!
October eleven, the stars align for you
The sun is shining bright, reflecting in the dew
From the morning light, we give thanks to the King
For the gift of life, see the joy that you bring
Shirley, you are glowing, looking so fine
Like the finest wine, girl you really shine
It’s Shirley’s day, oh yeah, it’s plus one
Under the Lagos sun, the party has begun
Shirley Etakpowa, queen of the day
We celebrate your grace in a special way
E choke! The vibe is high tonight
Everything for Shirley, yeah it’s feeling right
See the way you dance, movement full of grace
Happiness is written all over your face
Forget the traffic, forget the daily stress
Today is all about your life and your success
Odogwu woman, you represent the best
Put your hands up, let us put it to the test
It’s Shirley’s day, oh yeah, it’s plus one
Under the Lagos sun, the party has begun
Shirley Etakpowa, queen of the day
We celebrate your grace in a special way
E choke! The vibe is high tonight
Everything for Shirley, yeah it’s feeling right
Many more years, that is our prayer
Success and money, we see them everywhere
Shirley, keep rising, keep hitting the mark
Your light is shining, chasing away the dark
It’s Shirley’s day, oh yeah, it’s plus one
Under the Lagos sun, the party has begun
Shirley Etakpowa, queen of the day
We celebrate your grace in a special way
E choke! The vibe is high tonight
Everything for Shirley, yeah it’s feeling right
Happy birthday Shirley!
More life, more blessings!
(Talking drum fades out)
See gobe, it’s a celebration!
Yeah, keep on winning!
