(Gentle, sustained string pads)
Oh, the morning sun feels colder today
Without your voice to guide the way
Mummy, oh Mummy
Ramota, the name that rings in my soul
You made our broken pieces whole
Wife of Abu Awesu, the pillar of Ojoko One
You were the moon when we had no sun
Your hands were soft but your spirit was steel
You taught us how to love and how to heal
I look at the door and I wait for your stride
But the silence is heavy, nowhere to hide
You mentored the young and you carried the weak
You were the strength in the words that we speak
Oh Ramota, you are not forgotten
In the garden of memory, your love is not rotten
You are the fragrance that stays in the air
We feel your presence in every prayer
Though you have traveled to the great beyond
You are the anchor, the sacred bond
Mummy, our Mummy, we hold you so near
Even in silence, your wisdom is clear
Abu Awesu’s queen, your legacy stands
Built by your patience, held by your hands
You shaped our character, you polished our pride
With a mother’s compassion, you stood by our side
No mountain too high, no valley too deep
You watched over us while the world was asleep
Your laughter was music, a comfort so true
There is no heart that does not miss you
Oh Ramota, you are not forgotten
In the garden of memory, your love is not rotten
You are the fragrance that stays in the air
We feel your presence in every prayer
Though you have traveled to the great beyond
You are the anchor, the sacred bond
Mummy, our Mummy, we hold you so near
Even in silence, your wisdom is clear
Time moves forward, but we stand still
Trying to climb this impossible hill
But we carry your flame in the dark of the night
Your spirit, our compass, our guiding light
Rest in the garden, rest in the peace
Our love for you, Mama, will never cease
Oh Ramota, you are not forgotten
In the garden of memory, your love is not rotten
You are the fragrance that stays in the air
We feel your presence in every prayer
Though you have traveled to the great beyond
You are the anchor, the sacred bond
Mummy, our Mummy, we hold you so near
Even in silence, your wisdom is clear
Rest well, Ramota
Abu Awesu’s pride
Forever in our hearts
Always by our side
