January the first, the sun was rising high
A star was born beneath the morning sky
My first born daughter, my pride and my grace
Light of the world shining all over the place
You started the year, you started the trend
My greatest blessing, my forever friend
Eish, look at you shining so bright today
Everything you touch turns the gold way
Happy birthday to my first child, my queen
The finest soul that I have ever seen
January first, yeah you set the tone
Sitting on your birthday throne
Sharp sharp, we celebrate you now
First born daughter, take a final bow
Oh, my first born, you are blessed today
Blessings coming down in a major way
First week of the year, first month of the time
Feeling so good, yeah you’re looking sublime
From the start of the year, you showed us the way
Giving us joy every single day
I’m so proud of the woman you’re growing to be
My heart is full when you’re standing with me
Aweh, move your feet to the log drum beat
This celebration is definitely sweet
Happy birthday to my first child, my queen
The finest soul that I have ever seen
January first, yeah you set the tone
Sitting on your birthday throne
Sharp sharp, we celebrate you now
First born daughter, take a final bow
Oh, my first born, you are blessed today
Blessings coming down in a major way
Asambe, raise your hands up high
Underneath this beautiful South African sky
For the first of the month, for the start of the year
We wipe away every single tear
Only joy, only love, only light for you
Everything you dream, may it all come true
Pop the confetti, let the music flow
It’s a special day, yeah we let them know
My daughter, my blessing, my everything
Listen to the melody that we sing
Sho, you’re the first and you’ll always be
The greatest gift that was given to me
Keep on shining, keep on leading the pack
We got your front and we got your back
Happy birthday to my first child, my queen
The finest soul that I have ever seen
January first, yeah you set the tone
Sitting on your birthday throne
Sharp sharp, we celebrate you now
First born daughter, take a final bow
Oh, my first born, you are blessed today
Blessings coming down in a major way
January first, my baby girl
You mean the world, you’re the joy of the world
Happy birthday, yeah, we love you so
Asambe, let’s go!
It’s your day, shine on
Yeah, sharp sharp.
