Oh, we are waiting for that day.
Yes Lord, we are waiting for that day.
I look at the sky and I wonder why,
Life feels so heavy and the tears fill my eyes.
But I hold to the promise that You gave to me,
A world full of light that we're longing to see.
No more the shadows, no more the pain,
Your word is the anchor that pulls through the rain.
Glory to Your name, even in the sorrow,
We hold to the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
Oh, Jehovah God, You promised it all,
No sickness to hold us, no death to befall.
No hunger to wither, no war in the land,
Resting in peace in the palm of Your hand.
We're waiting for the day, yes, we're waiting for the day,
When every loved one is not far away.
Thank You Jesus, for the hope that You gave,
A promise of life beyond the dark grave.
I think of the faces that I used to know,
Walking in grace where the living waters flow.
The chair is now empty, the house is so still,
But I bow my head to Your sovereign will.
Yes Lord, I know that You’re counting the tears,
Healing the wounds of these weary long years.
Hallelujah, I’m standing on faith in Your plan,
To bring back the lost just as You said You can.
It’s a long road, but the vision is clear,
Removing the heartache, removing the fear.
Praise Him, for the morning that’s coming so fast,
When all of our troubles will be in the past.
Amen, let it be, let the kingdom arise,
With no more weeping in our tired eyes.
So I’ll keep on serving, I’ll keep on the line,
Trusting the timing that You have designed.
It’s not just a dream, it’s the truth of Your Word,
The sweetest melody that we’ve ever heard.
Until that moment, I’ll walk by Your side,
With You as my Shepherd, my light, and my guide.
Glory, glory, the promise remains,
Breaking the shackles and breaking the chains.
Yes Lord, we’re waiting.
For the day of reunion, glory.
No more pain, no more death.
Just peace, eternal peace.
Amen.
